21 Weeks- Q1-13 is as long as a banana!

Well, after the 20 week point the baby is no longer compared to a fruit in terms of size.  Now, they compare the baby to a fruit in terms of length.  Either way- baby is as long as a banana!

Here is a pic of Q1-13's foot!  :)
Here is the long strip of photos they gave us.  We were both a little disappointed with the quality.  We thought we would get to see more distinct features, but I guess that will be the ultrasound we have in the 3rd trimester.  They did put the images on a disc, which was nice.
Matt did a lot of work on the basement this weekend, built the shelves for Q1-13's closet, andddddddddddd put together the crib!!!!!  :)  :)  I'm so excited!  It's a 4 in one crib (it will turn into a daybed later, and a headboard eventually as the baby gets older).  I'll post pics after we announce the gender.  We are finalizing details for the theme for Q1-13's room.

Matt had an exciting weekend, while I had a restful weekend (but not the good kind of restful).  I came down with a horrible cold rather quickly late Thursday night (stress induced, no doubt).  I barely slept Thursday night as my throat was on fire, and I woke up Friday feeling completely miserable.  Friday was awful, but I came home after cross and fell asleep on the couch around 6:30.  Other than getting up for dinner, I was in bed between the hours of 8 pm and 7 am the next morning.  After the cross country meet, I took a 3 hour nap, ate dinner, then went back to bed for a total of 15 hours of sleep. Sunday, after sleeping in, I laid around all day grading and barely working.  I'm happy to say all the sleep paid off though!  By Sunday night, I felt like a new person.  Although I was horribly congested today at school, I made it through Monday with much energy.  And that is how you beat a cold without Nyquil/Dayquil- you sleep for over 25 hours!

Tonight we practiced filling the cupcakes for the Gender Reveal Party on Saturday!  I am SOOO excited to reveal the gender of Q1-13 to our closest family and friends.  My parents and brother are coming in to town, as are Matt's mother and brother.  Plus, both of our sisters are Skyping in for it- one from 3 hours behind us, the other from 6 hours ahead.

Q1-13, everyone wants to know if you are a boy or a girl!    :)

So Blessed!

Yesterday was the 20 week ultrasound. We were able to see our baby very well, watch Q1-13 move around, flexing the fingers and toes, and even a little yawning when waking up! It was such a happy mommy moment! :)

The baby is right on target for all growth and development, and no noticeable abnormalities. It's a big baby! The tech was able to see the gender and put the picture of Q1-13's privates in an envelope which we opened at dinner last night. We celebrated and opened our envelope during a romantic dinner at Brio. I wouldn't have done it any other way :)

My super sweet husband had gotten me flowers for after the appointment, and today surprised me with a new Pandora bead- a baby shoe with a stone of a certain color (blue or pink, I'll tell you soon!) I am in awe of his kindness and craftiness. My mom was also sweet and sent a cute little 20 week gift- a pair of Sperry's! (pay no attention to the color, she still has no clue what Q1-13 is!)

Here is a pic of the flowers, shoes, a few gifts from some students today, and my adorable bead :)

20 Weeks- GENDER WEEK!

Q1-13 is the size of a Mango this week!  This is also the halfway point, and the week we find out the gender.  Yippee!!!!

How far along? 20 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 7 lbs
Maternity clothes? Oh yes.  Can't wear ANY of my old pants.  Bought my first pair of maternity jeans (skinny maternity jeans!), and a bunch of stretchy tops, and a pair of maternity style dress pants.  Plus a Belly Band for all my current pairs of pants.
Stretch marks? No, but I bought some cocoa butter tonight to put on!
Can you see your toes? Yes, but it's getting close!
Sleep:  Is lacking these days :(  Hard to stay comfy all night!
Best moment this week: Making our baby registry at Target the other night!  Plus, getting baby gear hand-me-downs from our stellar neighbors. Also, exciting moment this weekend was finding all these awesome maternity places in Columbus :)
Miss Anything? Pumpkin Spice Latte!
Movement: Yes!!! See above. I'm getting to the point that I can start feeling it move while I'm up and about too!
Still running?  Yes.  The cool weather is making it easy, but my newest thing is this HORRIBLE urge to pee which begins about 2 minutes after I start running, and goes away the instant my run is over.  It's like the baby moves over my bladder when I run!  Once my run is over, it's like I never had to pee in the first place. Weird!
Food cravings: Cheeseburgers, but not as intensely.  This week there was a day where I just HAD to have Doritos with guacamole.
Anything making you queasy or sick: the apple I ate at lunch today.
Have you started to show yet: Definitely.  I'm starting to really look pregnant and not just like I have a pouch.
Gender prediction: I'm still hoping boy. We find out TOMORROW!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: I've sadly been going through some really mean moods.  There are days when I am so mean and nasty that I don't recognize myself. It makes me sad.  Sorry to people who have to live and work with me!
Weekly Wisdom: A neighbor friend just recommended all kinds of stuff to add to our registry, including skipping the bassinet and getting one of those rocking bed thingys.  I'll have to look up what they are called....they have them at Target!
Looking forward to: APPOINTMENT TOMORROW!!!!  And our Gender Reveal Party on October 6th!

Gifts from 2 of my students this morning.  They are so sweet!  :)

Coupon clipping

Look at what my cute husband did when he came home from work. He pulled out the coupons and decided he wanted to organize them. What a cutie!

Wedding Weekend and 19 weeks!

Well, we are just a week shy from the big 20 weeks!  Q1-13 is the size of a tomato today!  (Pic of tomato soon).
Craving update:  still big on the burgers, but the most recent food obsession- garlic bread!!!!

This weekend was also the wedding of two of our very best friends, Laura and Dave. We had a blast, and amazingly my dress still fit!  (hard to breathe....but it fit!)  Here are a couple shots from the night.

18 weeks- Q1-13 is KICKING!

Q1-13 is the size of a PEPPER today!

How far along? 18 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 5 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yes. I'm wearing long shirts, and I just bought some of those stretchy skirts from Old Navy.  I pretty much only wear that and maxi dresses to work, and after work I keep it to sweatpants!
Stretch marks? No?

Can you see your toes? Yes I can see my toes, but I can no longer see my hip bones :(
Sleep:  Sleeping well, but changing positions a lot
Best moment this week: Friday night lying in bed and feeling the baby kick for the first time!  I've felt things before, but I assumed it was digestion. But on Friday I hadn't eaten for hours and I was in bed and there was significant movement.  I had Matt put his hand there too and he could feel it as well!  Amazing!
Have you told family and friends: Yep yep.  Was in Tiffin for the first time yesterday, and everyone seemed to know!
Miss Anything? Running :(  My long runs mostly.  And being able to eat cold deli meat.
Movement: Yes!!! See above.

Also, today I could really feel the baby moving, so I called Matt over to feel. Instead of putting his hand on my belly, he put his head down on it to see if he could hear anything. A few seconds later, WHAM a huge kick (or punch) right to Matt's right eye. Hey Q1-13! No punching daddy!
Still running?  Yes.  And still at a crawling pace.  However, the temperature was kind to me and actually dropped down to below 80 on Monday so I was able to make it over 4 miles (felt like I could have done 5 or 6 too). It was a glorious day. I actually think I'll be able to boast my mileage up again once it's consistently cool out.
Food cravings: Skittles...and we're back to the cheeseburger cravings again. Last week I had a really bad broccoli cheese soup craving. I refused to eat anything else that night!
Anything making you queasy or sick: not really.  I'm over that!  Salads are tasting great again!
Have you started to show yet: Oh yes.  It's quite a cute little pouch.
Gender prediction: I keep going back and forth, but since I can't seem to get enough Wendy's cheeseburgers, I'm going with a boy.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Pretty stressed with the start of school, classes at XU, coaching cross country everyday, getting a new dog, and I'm the MOH in a wedding next week.  A lot on my plate right now, but it will all calm down at the end of October.
Weekly Wisdom: To not worry about gaining too much weight (yet).  I've only gained 5 lbs in the 18 weeks of pregnancy, and the doctor says it's low but a fine place to be in.  This shocked me because in my mind I was sure I had gained at least 10 lbs.  But I need to stop worrying about it because it's what is healthy for my baby :)
Looking forward to: The 20 week appointment on the 25th of September, and then our Gender Reveal Party on the 6th!

One week until the big wedding and my dress still fits!!!  :)
18 week photo with the pepper!
Wendy's cheesburger.  I consumed three cheeseburgers between weeks 17 and 18. Gross, but it's all I wanted to eat!

17 weeks- A Turnip!

17 weeks!  The baby is the size of a turnip!
Tiny update:  Heard the heartbeat on Friday, and it was 145!  Doctor said it's on the high side, but still healthy.  He said, don't listen to people who will tell you that that means it's a girl.  That's just a myth ;)

Say hello to our newest member of the family- Shelby!  She is an Australian Cattle Dog :)
